“A delightful whirlwind of sights, colour, dust, noise, flavours, and astounding ancient and monumental creativity amongst galloping donkey carts and very overworked and underfed horses.
The massive amount of buildings being erected makes me worry that there will be very little of the old city of Luxor left to see within several years which is so rich in amazing temples and museums
Watching the feluccas sailing gently along the Nile was a favourite view and escape.”
Susie studied at Mansfield College of Art foundation before apprenticed as a picture restorer in a Florentine studio, she then returned to the UK and studied Life Painting at Sir John Cass before going to Byam Shaw School of Art.
She worked for several years as a picture restorer, working on many old masters before renting a studio which led to solo exhibitions at Faroe Road Studios ,Stephen Bartley gallery, Smiths in Covent Garden, several shows at Chelsea Arts Club, and more recently with Piers Feetham. Her mixed shows include the Lyric Open, RAC club, Green and Stone, and as a member of the Chelsea Art Society.
